Nelson Vazquez OTR/L CHT

Nelson Vazquez OTR/L CHT graduated from Florida International University in 1982. Since graduation Mr. Vazquez has worked exclusively in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation in Miami Florida. Nelson has proudly carried the title of Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) since its inception in 1991.

Mr. Vazquez published an article on ClikStrips in the Journal of Hand Therapy June 2002 special issue dedicated to splinting. Mr. Vazquez was an adjunct professor for the splinting lab course for the Occupational Therapy Department at Florida International University for four years as well as for one semester on upper extremity orthotics for the Orthotic and Prosthetic program.

He continues to be a quest lecturer for several University programs in south Florida. Mr. Vazquez has presented at several national and state hand therapy conferences. Internationally, Mr. Vazquez has presented in Canada, Brazil, and Columbia. Most recently he represented ASHT as a presenter at the annual meeting of the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association.
