Best Attempt at Flexion

This patient is not able to achieve anywhere close to a full fist after a blow to her hand. She has no fractures but has significant pain and motion limitations. What might be going on with her hand?

Moderator's Response
This patient has had CRPS for quite some time now. She is attempting to flex her hand in this photo and has very little active motion. Her passive is not much better. She was not in for therapy as she will not allow anyone to touch her hand but when she was in for a consult for a MMI report we took photos. Note the thick nails, hand discoloration and thumb extension posturing.
